Salalah is a slice of ecological miracle. Coconut trees on white sand beaches provide respite from the punishing heat, while tropical fruits grow in the otherwise arid region. But you’ll really want to be there during the wildly popular khareef season starting July, when monsoon rain visits the desert-town to reveal misty emerald valleys, flowing wadis, and seasonal waterfalls — it’s truly a little oasis in the midst of Arabian desert.
